Make them Stop and Stare

Fall in love with this look.

As the fall weather gets settled and comfortable, it is our turn to fully get cozy and comfy, too, with our favourite fall pieces from sweater dresses, booties, blazers to fresh outerwear trends like cardigans, jackets, scarfs and hats. During the fall season, there are so many reasons to get excited about;

One- Thanksgiving is a few days away. I have so many things to be thankful for this year. So much food to eat “words of a foodie” lol

Two: sweater dresses, especially the fit and flare, like the one I am wearing can complement any age and body types. In case you like this type of style, you can purchase my dress @suzyshier for 49.00 (not including tax). It comes in two colours (black and beige) Suzy Shier calls it “knit sweater crew neck dress.” This dress is cozy, sophisticated and chic, which gives that right level of girly. It also a look that is work ready, thanksgiving dinner ready, church ready, and any other event. This dress is just a simple, playful short sleeve fit and flare sweater dress that drapes like a dream, 80% viscose and 20% polyester dress — sizes rage from Xs to XL and currently available in-stores and online.

Three:I opted in for an earthy toned jacket instead of an oversized sweater or cardigan. I feel like a longer jacket would have looked a bit better, but that just another look you can try. I wore my beige waterproof @justfab ankle boots because there is something special about coordinating sweater dress and boots. They compliment each other and give a look, the right balance.

Four: Disclaimer-belt not included, I accessorized with a brown belt as some knit clothing is loose and tends to hide your curves. So cinching is the best tip/trick to bring out that waistline. The 411 is the chunkier the knit dress, the wider the belt size. The finer the knit, the more classy it looks and easy to style. You can create this same look by adding a beret/fedora hat, mid-calf boots and a belt. Sometimes even a scarf for those bold souls out there. Scarfs are a great piece to add interest to a look.

Five: The fall season is perfect for layering, not because the warm weather has deserted us does not mean resigning to wearing pants until summer. We can still have our cake and eat it too by just adjusting to the temperature because not everyone loves wearing pants, so sweater dresses are always going to be a fashion statement that comes like a boomerang. Other recycled fashion statements are ankle boots, fishnet tights and scarfs; they have survived this highly demanding fashion world because they a versatile and can be worn with whatever you choose and whenever you like.

Six: Remember, the clothes we wear can represent ourselves in the world, and can be considered part of maximizing our comfort to feel happy throughout the day. It is easier to adjust a look when you layer up during the fall and winter season when you feel too hot; you can easily remove layers to have the right level of comfort. Who doesn’t like to get cozy, relax? Feeling repose can be done by changing up your look, change of footwear and accessories, and you get a lifetime of looks.
